What happens below the Hyperliquid copy trading minimum order?
A small allocation can scale a leader's trade below Hyperliquid's $10 minimum. MirrorTrade skips opening orders that remain below its minimum check, rather than turning every small trade into a $10 position. Near-minimum orders may be adjusted, so sizing is not always exact.
A $500 account copying a $2 million leader
At a 1x risk setting, the sizing ratio is $500 ÷ $2,000,000, or 0.025%. A $40,000 leader position scales to $10. A $5,000 position scales to $1.25 and is too small to open. These examples omit price movement and quantity rounding.
The same trader can therefore be easier to reproduce with a larger allocation, but adding funds also increases the amount you can lose. A minimum deposit alone cannot guarantee that every copied order will fit.
Opening, increasing and closing are different
The engine can lift an opening or increasing order that is already close to the minimum, subject to quantity rounding and risk checks. Orders materially below the minimum are skipped. This can create a small difference from exact proportional sizing.
Full closes are treated differently from new openings; do not assume an under-$10 position cannot be closed. Partial reductions still face the engine's minimum check. Skipping an opening does not guarantee it will fill later: price, target size, margin and risk checks are evaluated again.
